When winter's chill sets in, nothing soothes the soul like a steaming bowl of homemade soup. Here are some hearty, flavorful winter soup recipes that will keep you warm, nourished, and cozy all season long.

A timeless comfort food, chicken noodle soup warms both body and heart.

Ingredients:

1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cooked and shredded

8 cups chicken broth

2 carrots, sliced

2 celery stalks, sliced

1 onion, diced

3 garlic cloves, minced

8 oz egg noodles

1 tsp dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions:

1. In a large pot, sauté onion, carrots, and celery until tender. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.


2. Pour in the chicken broth and add shredded chicken, thyme, salt, and pepper.


3. Simmer for 15 minutes, then add noodles. Cook until noodles are tender (about 8-10 minutes).


4. Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
